FN IWB Holster

Holsters are used for safety, security, and accessibility. FN America offers a large number of handguns that are used for both self-protection and duty carry pistols. Having the right holster for these high-quality sidearms is necessary for those who want to protect their firearm and make them easily accessible in self-defense situations.

Holster Types and Materials

Of the many types of holsters, the most popular ones for gun owners are inside-the-waistband (IWB) holsters and outside-the-waistband (OWB) holsters. Each holster type has its own pros and cons.

IWB holsters are the best holster for concealed carry. Low-quality holsters can be bulky and uncomfortable to wear all day, which is why Incognito Concealment’s holsters are slim and low-profile. Our holsters are made for all-day concealed carry wear, so you feel like your firearm belongs on your waist.

OWB holsters can also be used for concealed carry but they require the use of a large cover garment or an untucked shirt to be hidden as well as possible. If you frequently wear suit jackets or live in a colder climate, OWB holsters may be a great choice.

Paddle holsters are a balance between IWB and OWB holsters. The paddle sits flush against your side on the inside of your waistband, while your firearm rests on your hip. While paddle holsters also need to be concealed by a jacket or long shirt, they are easy to clip and unclip as you move about your day, which may be more convenient for some gun owners.

The material that holsters are made from should also be considered. Most gun owners prefer leather, nylon, or Kydex. Leather and nylon are soft materials that don’t protect your firearm from blunt-force trauma, moisture, or corrosive agents.

Kydex, a thermoplastic polymer, is the best material to use for holsters. These holsters are durable, waterproof, resistant to corrosion, and don’t easily collapse under the weight of external pressure.

Because Kydex holsters are waterproof, the firearm is protected from rust and other water damage that can affect how well the gun works. In a self-defense situation or in a shooting competition, a handgun failing to fire properly could have far-reaching consequences.

FN America

FN America, a subsidiary of FN Herstal, is one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality firearms in use by law enforcement officials, military personnel, and civilians. FN Herstal, established in 1889, also has a partnership with the popular Browning International.

Popular pistols made by FN America are the FN 509 and the FN Five-SeveN.

The FN 509 series has 13 models, with midsize, tactical, compact, and compact tactical versions. With double-action triggers and chambered in 9mm, these models have high-end prices.

Meanwhile, the FN Five-SeveN series only has two models: The standard version and the Five-SeveN FDE. These models are single-action and chambered in 5.7x28mm ammo with a 10-round or 20-round capacity, which is better for shooting at longer distances. The standard Five-SeveN model has a fully ambidextrous safety lever and reversible magazine release.

The Five-SeveN FDE has adjustable 3-dot sights, a 1913 accessory mounting rail, a fully ambidextrous sliding lever, and a reversible magazine. These models also have a 10-round or 20-round magazine capacity.

Two other FN models that are popular are the FN FNX and the FN FNS.

There are five models in the FN FNX series, with three models that chamber .45 ACP ammo and two models that chamber 9mm and .40 Smith & Wesson ammo, respectively. These models have double-action/single-action triggers, as well as ambidextrous safety levers, slide stop levers, and magazine releases. Another key feature of these models is their accessory rails, which allow for full customization.

The FN FNS series has seven models, with three chambered in .40 Smith & Wesson and four chambered in 9mm. There are both full-sized and compact versions of both, and both have long slide versions. With all having double-action triggers, they have accessory rails for customization, as well as ambidextrous slide stop levers and magazine releases.

FN also produces a subcompact pistol, called the FN 503. A striker-fired handgun chambered in 9mm ammo with a 6-round and 8-round magazine, the FN 503 has a 3.1-inch barrel. Other key features of the FN 503 are low-profile iron sights, a loaded chamber indicator, and soft recoil.

FN IWB Holsters

Incognito Concealment offers Kydex IWB holsters that are suitable for multiple FN models, including the FN 509, FN Five-SeveN, FN FNX, and the FN FNS. These holsters have a lifetime warranty, so you know your FN gun is protected for years.

A Kydex IWB holster is an ideal conceal carry holster because it has the best combination of durability, protection, and concealment. With fully adjustable cant angles and an adjustable retention that allows for the perfect fit, these holsters sit comfortably on the waistline with the use of belt clips. You always have a smooth draw with Incognito Concealment holsters.

When you are using a concealed carry holster, it’s recommended you use a gun belt. Gun belts use internal stiffeners like steel or Kydex in order to hold gun holsters securely in place, as regular belts tend to sag under the weight of the firearm, affecting concealment and accessibility.
